Street Fighter 3 : 3rd strike
It's been some time since I have posted anything on my blog. I've been real busy with work. Now working two jobs , I find myself not having much time to play games and do any projects. This week on the other hand , I did manage to spark a newly found interest in Street Fighter 3 : Third Strike. ( SF3 )I love this game. I've never had so much fun trying to learn a game in training mode as I do in this game. Yun is now officially my favorite character. Something about him makes me feel like I can really progress in this game and become competitive. It's tough right now because of SF4 ( street fighter 4 ) which is a great game but it is new. Sf3 came out almost 10 years ago and it never made a comeback other then anniversary style remakes for ps2 and xbox. I'm doing my best to spark interest in the online community. I want to become really good at this game and hopefully I can find some people who are willing to do the same.

Gaming Updates In General
It's been a while since my last post. A lot has happened in the gaming world for me. I started creating play through videos of classic Nintendo games. I started playing Final Fantasy because it was my favorite game to play in the early 90's. I've completed the game so many times that I'm sure I don't have enough fingers and toes to count them all. Final Fantasy has been remade countless times on just about every platform. With every remake , the captured only some of the essence that was Final Fantasy. The enemies were easier , you leveled up faster , and everything in the game costs less. The graphics have been slightly enhanced to emulate a Super Nintendo feel but nothing compares to the original. That was my purpose. To show those who never had a chance to see the original game in all it's 8 bit glory.
I will finish Final Fantasy and work on something else. It's difficult to make an RPG play through just due to the amount of time you spend leveling up. I edit those level grinding moments out to save hours of downtime that nobody really wants to experience.
The next game which I started and finished has yet to be uploaded to my youtube channel. It's another favorite game of mine that is even more well known then Final Fantasy. It involves a blond haired little dude in a green suit wielding a wooden sword. ;-)
I also managed to get through a few more missions of Castle Wolfenstein. This game had an update for the multi-player but it only made the process of getting into a room better. The gameplay still lacked online.
I ordered Sanwa replacement buttons and a joystick for my Madcatz SE playstation 3 fight stick. It looks really good now and plays a lot better. My xbox 360 stick has been modified already.
I finished all the hard trials in Street Fighter 4 ! That was pretty much my last project for street fighter until further notice. I still have to record C Viper's level 3 but I'm not in a hurry to get it done. It's really difficult to do and for some reason , I just can't seem to do it again.
LETS GO GIANTS!

Street Fighter 4 Hard Trial Streak
Today was a busy day for me. I Went to a staff day meeting at my new job as a security guard. That went well. It was only 3 hours and I got paid for 8. When I finally got home and sat down to relax, I started up Street Fighter 4 and my camera to see if i could do any of the hard trials I have been working on. I managed to get all of the trials finished and recorded accept for C viper's lever 3 through 5. I only have level 5 to complete for myself. El Fuerte , I managed to get level 4 done today and im still stuck on 5. I finished ken's level 5 finally as well as Cammy's level 5 , on top of that finished level 4 and 5 of Fei Long. It felt so good to get all of those done with since I have been working on them for so long. Just a few more left and I will be completely done with that project.
A job well done today. I feel great.

Wolfenstein Mission 5: Hospital
It's been a while since I had a chance to sit down and play Wolfenstein. Just a week ago I had received my special order of a 8GB memory card and a power adaptor for my Canon Powershot A590IS. It was fairly inexpensice considering that the power cord at the local camera shop wanted $60 for it and I only paid around $50 for that plus the memory card. Shipping was high but in the end, I'm saving a lot of money by not buying batteries.
The entire mission was filmed in about an hour. I realized at this point in the game that you can actually choose your missions. There is a centralized map , sort of like a typical world map where you go back to after each mission and speak to your people. After successful missions you talk to them , upgrade your weapons with the money you made and find then you get new missions added to the journal. This concept isn't knew. It's in a lot of games now where you have more of an open world to discover. There are doors on the main map that are locked that you must obviously unlock through certain missions. Traditionally first person shooters, Call of Duty , Rainbow Six , Ghost Recon , Halo , Gears of War , and Return of Wolfenstein , you would start at point A , be it mission 1 then get to the end of the mission and go to mission 2. You didn't have a choice in the matter. Now it seems as though you do. It's refreshing. I've had to work the last two days and this weekend will be no different. I made a poor choice and volunteered to cover someones shift and didn't realize that it was this week and next week. It's my girlfriends birthday tomorrow! I messed up but hopefully I'll make it up to her little by little each day. Here's the 4 parts of mission 5.

Street Fighter 4 League Season 2 ! PSN/360!
A few months ago I decided that playing Street Fighter 4 online was leaving my dry. It had become monotonous. Search for a game , play a match, win the match and move on. Lose the match then you start over. The problem is that most the people I played online did not play the game at a serious level. They jumped around and spammed whatever moves they could in each round with no intent of being competitive. It was hard to get better at a game when I consistently played bad players. I'm talking about the ones who purposely do E Honda's Headbutt the entire match whether it is effective or not. The fun of competition just gets thrown out the window. After the new update came out allowing you to gain GRADE POINTS and achieve higher rankings to play in better tournaments, I played whenever I could to get higher in the ranks. After achieving around 4000 Grade points, I realized that in order to get 15000 , which is the next grade high from G2 to G1 , I'd have to win at least 120 finals, or 240 runner ups. Playing 3 matches to get to that point takes quite some time. Well over a 1000 matches would be needed to break g2. I don't remember a game where I played that many times with no change in game play , nothing new to look forward to. It's just repetitive matches played 1000 times. There's just not enough rewards along the way to make me keep at it.
What's the next best thing? I don't have arcades in my area. The community is one that online is your only option. So what I decided to do was make my own league. I called it Street Fighter 4 Season 1. It was meant for XBox and Playstion online. I'm a member of the Capcom community better known as Capcom-unity.com which is a forum site that hosts blogs and anything else you can think of. I decided to go ahead and announce that I was going to make a league and people should sign up. Wasn't realizing if it would take well, one by one I got gamertag responses. First season ended up with 11 people including me. I used a site called Myleague and it seemed good at the start but only proved to be too confusing in the end. After that season went through I learned a lot as well as made a lot of online friends on capcom-unity. Just last week I started a new season utilizing capcom.com's member blog. It is a huge hit. Everyone seems to be enjoying it. I have about 24 members playing games right now and it is good to know I have something else to look forward to when I start up my system and decide to spin my sf4 disc.

Not even rain can stop me!
Today was a busy day on my feet. I went to the local Dutchess County fair today with my girlfriend Kelly. She had taken half a day off at work so that we could get there early. It looked like it was going to rain, but we decided to bring umbrellas with us and prepare. After all , the fair is about the animals and food. Plenty of places were available to seek shelter.
We arrived around 2pm and there was no problems getting in. He had pre-paid our tickets in advance to save a few dollars. Once we made it through the main entrance , we were immediately hit in the face with the smell of sausage and peppers , hot dogs , hamburgers, fried everything with a side of fries , and of course fried dough. We walked past all the vendors keeping tabs on our options. After reaching the end we looked back and decided on a boneless BBQ rib sandwich for her and Philly cheese steak for me. Stuffed comfortably, we decide on our next plan of attack. We were to see the animals.
First off , we walked through the area of cows , goats, and sheep. Cows were interesting because they were big animals. Unfortunately I felt nervous walking past them as the only thing you could see was their rear ends ! Not exactly a view I care to see. At this point it was starting to rain but it wasn't a problem. The goats we're pretty interesting. They yield 4 quarts of milk a day. We read that at the information booth. The goats had this funny smile about them. Something inside told me that they weren't as happy as they seemed. The sheep were really nice. Looked like they wanted to come out and hang with us.

Raining even harder, we made our way to the pigs , birds and rabbits. I had the most enjoyment from these sections. The pigs were funny. Laying around being lazy. Something told me that they didn't seem to mind being there. Some of them were massive! There were a lot of little pigs too. Then there was a mother with her babies laying down asleep.
We got to pet a few bunnies and the roosters were hilarious. My favorite part was one specific rooster that looked like he had a wig on. He was definitely aware he was the looker of the bunch.

The rain let up. We decided to try out sweet potato tempura and it was amazing. We walked around a little bit more and bought fried dough. The fair was a good time. It always is. Sometimes it's more about the food then anything else. But whats wrong with that? :-)

I see light!
I see light! Well it's because It is 6:07am and I have just under 2 hours left of my shift. I worked an overnight shift and I am lucky enough to be able to use Internet all night long. I have been up since 10am yesterday and my head feels heavy. Doing these overnight shifts are really tough on me. Sunday, aka grocery shopping day, is the day where I feel like I am a zombie. Most cases I either act like one, or I look like one.
I only make a few dollars an hour and I usually work 8am-8pm Thursdays. I get to cover other shifts once in a while to make extra money. Not really extra in my mind, more like just a little bit more to ease the pain of being broke. Playing video games on my many days off may seem like a mans wonderful ideal of life. Don't get me wrong. I love my games. But I also like to buy things like food, gas for the car , something nice for my loved one. Kelly and I have been together nearly two years now and we're both in difficult financial situations. We're dealing with it the best we can just like everyone else out there. Trying to build a life with someone when both partners are struggling to figure themselves out when it comes to a career is stressful. She stresses out because things aren't changing and all I do is say things will change eventually.
The natural cycle of life brings many changes. They just never happen when you want them to.

Wolfenstein Mission 3
So far the single player mode in this game is truly satisfying. I decided to start over because I started the game without downloading the Flammenwerfer. It's a flame thrower you get for buying the game new. I started the game over and set it to UBER which means it is on the hardest difficulty available. It wasn't any harder, but i did notice that I get close to death a lot easier and faster. I still manage to play the first two missions without a problem. Mission 3 is a little bit harder. There were a few moments when i forgot to turn on the veil which allows me to see an alternate parallel universe as well as anything that is deemed a weakness. If it shows up a bright red basically needs to be shot. Bosses are easy once you figure out what to do but until you do, they seem to be impossible. People seem to like watching my videos and that's good. Here are the 5 parts of mission 3 from my youtube channel.

Wolfenstein Mission 2
Mission 2 introduced some different game play options that mimic a sort of role playing style game. Being able to upgrade your weapons and using an ancient artifact that allows you to essentially see the unseen. You are also able to twist time by making it slower, or to make you faster with agility. At first, it just seemed as if it was too much information and not enough explanation. It took a a few minute to really understand the new controls but once i figured out how to use them, I began to imagine what type of levels and puzzles I'll have to figure out in this game. I guess my Rambo style of running and gunning won't work. This game is actually going to require some thought. I like it.
Here's all 6 parts to mission 2 from my YouTube channel.

Wolfenstein Mission 1
Mission one of Wolfenstein started off just as I expected. It was action packed from the start. Playing it on the hard difficulty proved to be a perfect setting for my skill level. I don't believe in playing games on the easier setting just because I'm playing for the challenge, not the credits at the end. So far I am not disappointed in the single player campaign. Controls are similar to what i am used to. The graphics are crisp and the game play top notch. Listed below are the videos of the complete play though of mission one in two parts.
Wolfenstein is out !
I bought the game blind and in confidence.
